Something a little different for today's Blog! I hosted a Valentine's Day Play date for my girlfriends and their kiddos. It was so much fun! I absolutely love hosting parties.... especially if it involves baking and fun crafts! Almost all of the kiddos in our group are boys, except poor Zoey (who does very well with all of the boys) and her 5 week old sister Olivia. Otherwise it was 8 little boys all 3 years or younger! I didn't know how much crafting I could get away with.... but actually they did pretty good. It helped I involved robots, pens, stickers and most importantly Glue! I served light snacks and some home made treats!
Early this morning I made Gluten Free Cranberry Orange Muffins. They were delicious! I got the recipe from www.mybakingaddiction.com/gluten-free-cranberry-orange-muffins I modified the recipe slightly, by making my own gluten free flour from old fashioned oats and raw almonds! The only sweetener I used was honey! Added some shaved almond on top and they were great!
I made sure to have a few different crafts for the kids. They could make Valentine's Day Cards and also had a little Valentine Foam Robot project for them to assemble as well! Although the moms ended up doing most of it, I think we all had fun!
Last week Ryker and I made all of his friends Valentine's Cards. We had so much fun with stickers and stamps and it made him very excited for the upcoming play date! As a parting gift the kids got their Valentine's Cards and a goody bag with stickers, a pencil and small dinosaur toy. It was so fun putting all of the little details together!
Today was such a fun day getting to visit with all of my wonderful mommy friends and to let the kids play! My husband asked me later on what gave me the idea to host this little get together..... I said "My Brain" haha LOL I told him that I love spending time with my friends and their kids and to do something a little extra special is fun for me! I hope all of you ladies had a great day and I look forward to hosting another fun play date soon! Lastly I had to post some photos of the kiddos...... They don't look like the happiest bunch, probably because I made them all sit on the couch, but believe me they did have fun today!
